Anthony is a Director at NineSquared with a focus on transport economics, cost benefit analysis and infrastructure prioritisation. His primary role is leading the cost benefit analysis team at NineSquared, which conducts assessments for a variety of public and private clients relating to transport infrastructure, technology developments, policy development and the arts amongst other sectors. Key to our work is helping to develop cohesive, well documented and data-driven narratives to support the delivery of infrastructure or the development of policies.
Anthony has previously worked for Deloitte Access Economics in the Infrastructure Advisory team, as well as having roles at Urbis and the Queensland Statistician Office in Queensland Treasury. He is a professional economist with qualifications in Economics and Business Management from the University of Queensland.
Select Project Experience
- Beenleigh and Townsville Courthouse Redevelopments – Anthony led the economic analysis and demand forecasts as part of a detailed business case. This included an econometric forecast by crime type and a cost-benefit analysis.
- Bribie Island Bridge CBA – Anthony led the economic analysis for the proposed Bribie Island Bridge upgrade. This included a rapid CBA at the Options Analysis stage to help identify a preferred option, and a detailed CBA to inform the investment decision.
- Value of Sport in New South Wales – Anthony led an economic analysis in partnership with the University of Technology, Sydney to calculate the value of sport and active recreation throughout New South Wales.
- Moggill Road Cycleway Active Transport Analysis – As part of the economic analysis of Stage 2 of the Moggill Road Cycleway, Anthony led the economic discussions as part of the options definition, the multi-criteria analysis and CBA.
- Inland Freight Route Link Flood Study – Anthony led the economic analysis component of the IFRLFS. This project was awarded the Flood Risk Management Project of the Year by Floodplain Management Australia.
- Barron River CBA – Anthony led the economic analyses at the Options Analysis and Detailed Business Case stages of the Barron River Project. This included CBAs of various options, followed by a detailed assessment of the shortlisted options.
- Bundaberg Hospital Detailed Business Case – Anthony led the CBA for the preferred option to expand hospital capacity in Bundaberg, including consideration of health impacts, benefits to society, the local economy and operational risks.
- Monash Integrated Culture Precinct – Anthony led a CBA and economic contribution of a potential cultural precinct in Monash which focused on the direct benefits for users and the broader benefit for the community.
