Operational Cost Forecasting Model Development

NineSquared was engaged by Seqwater to assist in understanding the operating cost forecasting methodologies and systems within Seqwater, and to provide assistance in optimising this forecasting to drive more efficient and effective economic regulatory and service delivery outcomes. This analysis was conducted in the context of Seqwater’s operating environment where almost all of its revenue is regulated by the QCA.​

The forecasting systems were required to link in with broader organisational plans and for these forecasting systems to have a more integrated whole-of-Seqwater focus, as well as being able to more seamlessly link to the regulatory section’s operating costs forecasting.​

Our role was to assist in understanding the operating cost forecasting methodologies and systems within Seqwater through a review of the OPEX forecasting activities and processes in Seqwater. We also provided advice on optimising this forecasting to drive more efficient and effective economic regulatory and service delivery outcomes.  The engagement required extensive consultation with Seqwater’s Executive Leadership Team throughout the project.
