Market Assessments

Market Assessments

Helping clients understand the social and economic conditions and key drivers in the communities in which they operate

What we do

We have worked with clients in diverse sectors, including transport and water, to understand socio economic conditions in key markets relevant for their organisation. Our assessments have been instrumental in identifying the impacts of change on communities, how risk can be mitigated, and insights into long term trends and potential disruptions that shape strategic planning.

A socio economic assessment documents the current and future state of a potential change and associated responses through the lens of four main areas of consideration:

  • Demographics – Demographic analysis considers population structure, growth and household dynamics.
  • Economics – Consideration is given to key economic indicators, such as Gross Regional Product, unemployment and inflation, housing, income distribution, and sector analysis.
  • Social factors – Social factors encompass educational and health outcomes, inequality and other factors which may affect consumer and household behaviour.
  • Market dynamics – Among the considerations influencing market dynamics, a socio economic assessment will analyse consumer behaviour, competitor landscape, and the regulatory environment.

If you require a socio economic impact assessment to inform your organisation’s strategic decision making, our team of research economists will work with you to scope requirements and deliver analysis that brings confidence to decision making.
