Eleanor is an economic analyst at NineSquared with an interest in transport, health and sports economics. She has experience in conducting economic assessments across the transport, active recreation and justice sectors. She regularly undertakes research and detailed economic analysis to inform decision making and is passionate about understanding and explaining the practical implications of economic issues. She is currently in her final year studying a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and Government at the University of Queensland.
Selected project experience:
- Provided research and modelling support throughout the successful delivery of the cost benefit analysis of the Beenleigh and Townsville Courthouse Redevelopments.
- Assisted with the problem monetisation of the Barkly and Flinders Highways in Far North Queensland for Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads conducting economic analysis and modelling to determine the cost of the problem.
- Provided modelling support in the development of a Remoteness Index for Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads. This project included the analysis of data from multiple modes of transportation for more than 150 towns across the state.
- Collaborated on an insight piece investigating current port productivity in Australia to supplement the 2024 NineSquared Landside Port Charges Index.
- Assisted in the investigation of the social impacts of water usage by the iron ore mining industry in the Pilbara region. This project included data analysis and research across multiple sites in the context of the impact of water usage on local flora and fauna, traditional owners, amenities and other users.
- Conducted market outlook research and economic analysis for the RAA in South Australia. This research produced outlook reports to explain both the state of the macro-economy as a whole and specifically in the context of industries of importance to the RAA.
- Assisted in the development of an ex-post CBA model of Female Friendly Sporting projects in New South Wales in collaboration with the University of Technology Sydney and the New South Wales Office of Sport.
- Collaborated in the production of the monthly NineSquared fares review newsletter, analysing global data and information to produce thorough and interesting summary pieces.
