Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning

NineSquared was engaged to provide expert advice to the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning (DILGP) as part of the State Infrastructure (SIP) Maturing the Infrastructure Pipeline (MIP) process. The MIP process is a comprehensive review of the projects identified in the SIP and an assessment of the progress made on each across the State. Given our experience in the transport sector, our role focussed on preparing a report for three key transport opportunities including:

  • Evaluating options to increase off-peak patronage on public transport in the South-East
  • Ensuring Queensland’s ports are protected and managed appropriately to ensure freight supply chains function effectively
  • Reviewing infrastructure options on the Ipswich Motorway to improve freight and passenger travel time and safety

We worked closely with both DILGP and the Department of Transport and Main Roads, as well as our partner consultants from SunToll to ensure concise, timely and well-informed reports were delivered to our client.
