NineSquared was engaged to review the current state of play and provide an independent review of what was required to deliver real time passenger information in the public transport environment as input into the whole of government decision making process. The review included consideration of the minimum requirements for delivery of real time information to public transport customers, a status assessment of the then current state of play and the development of a gap analysis. Eight options were assessed against their ability to fill the identified gaps as well as against a range of quantitative and qualitative criteria such as capital and operating cost, scalability of the solution, ease of operation, compliance with the overall government ICT strategy and risk.  This assessment resulted in a preferred option being presented to and approved by the Government.
