Carnarvon Gorge Road is the main access road to the Carnarvon Gorge tourist attraction and is in poor condition and in need of an upgrade. NineSquared assisted the Central Highlands Regional Council with a funding submission to the Queensland Government’s “Royalties for Resource Producing Communities Fund” to pave the remaining 15km of Carnarvon Gorge Road. We prepared a detailed economic impact assessment and cost-benefit analysis of the proposed road upgrade which will improve access to Carnarvon Gorge and help support the local tourism industry. The project was successfully funded and announced by the Queensland Government in December 2015.
