Modelling
Modelling
We help our clients make informed decisions by synthesising complex data into logical concise analysis. Our team has extensive experience in designing, building and reviewing financial, regulatory and decision based models. In each case we work with our clients to create bespoke modelling solutions which suit their needs and those of required users.
We pride ourselves on our ability to develop creative analytical solutions which help our clients answer important questions related to pricing, investment decisions, negotiation strategies, bottlenecks in supply and potential future demand. Our models follow the principles of the FAST modelling standard and are all subject to detailed internal quality assurance procedures.
Economic modelling
Our team has capabilities in a range of economic modelling techniques including cost-benefit analysis, econometric modelling, input-output modelling, demand forecasting and logit choice modelling.
Financial modelling
Our team has experience in financial modelling including constructing 3-way financial models, performing discounted cashflow analysis for investment decisions and using ratio analysis to assist in cost benchmarking exercises. In addition to our economic expertise we have qualifications in areas of accounting and finance which assist us in identifying and interpreting relevant financial statement information to assist us with these tasks.
Regulatory modelling
Regulatory economics is one of our core business offerings and the work we perform in this area usually involves the construction of an infrastructure pricing model. These models are developed to inform our recommendations or to assist clients in understanding the sensitivity of prices to changes in key variables (useful when renewing contracts or engaging in other types of price negotiations). We have also been involved in ex post assessments of firm profitability (for example to assist in competition policy investigations into anticompetitive behaviour) and have been engaged to review the practical application of a variety of private infrastructure pricing contracts on the basis of our deep industry expertise.
